I’ve been dealing with a nuisance barking dog next door for almost four years now. So loud that people on the other side of a phone call can hear him while I’m sitting in my family room. I’ve tried talking to the neighbor multiple times and when that didn’t work, contacted the HOA, animal control...to no avail. I saw this and decided it was worth a shot. Set it outside on the medium setting, and for the first time, the dog barked twice and then promptly stopped! I love that it only activates when the dog barks, so he can enjoy the outdoors without being in constant discomfort, and helps me to avoid yet another uncomfortable confrontation with my neighbors.
I bought this for my son, who was quite frustrated with his neighbors' barking dogs surrounding his new digs. The yards are separated by concrete block walls so the dogs can't see each other or the neighboring people, but they'd bark every time they heard a person or another dog making any kind of noise. One dog would start the bark fest and all the others would join in.
It does take some time for the dogs to connect the unpleasant sound with the act of barking, but once they do, it works like a charm. After we learned how effective it was, I bought a second one so he could cover both areas of his back yard where the barking dogs were a problem. His yard is now a nice peaceful place! Of course, it's impossible to prove that the dogs responded to the noise training rather than just getting used to their new neighbor, but they went from incessant barking to no barking within a couple weeks. For that quick a solution, it was money well spent.
I have 2 of these that I used at our last house. We moved and I packed them and they're in storage while our new home is being built. There are 2 awful dogs that live behind us in the rental we're in. They bark and howl and the owners are jerks and don't do anything about it. I bought another bark control device that didn't work at all. I'm returning that one. I ordered the Dogtek again and noticed a significant difference in their barking. They still howl when the hear a siren but you can tell they're having a hard time and they don't howl as long. I'm ordering another one. One for each dog. Hoping to stop this madness.
